January Holidays 2025 & Weekend Update – Port of Virginia Operating Schedule

A tentative agreement has been reached on a new six-year Master Contract between the ILA and USMX.

In the second half of January, there are two holidays you should be aware of:

• Wednesday, January 15th, is the observation of MLK’s birthday, as per ILA contract and Monday, January 20th is observed by the state and federal governments
• Monday, January 20th, is ILA Memorial Day – a holiday, per the ILA contract

We are pleased to announce that all Port of Virginia terminals and support facilities will be open next week and also, operating on Jan. 15th and Jan. 20th – normal business hours.

• Newport News Marine Terminal (NNMT) operations will be closed on Wednesday, January 15th

Due to anticipated inclement weather and with safety in mind, this weekend, January 11 – 12^th, all Port of Virginia truck gates will be closed.

The Port of Virginia will observe the following gate operational hours for Friday, January 10^th:

• NIT and VIG – inbound portal closure at 1600 hours and non-mandatory reservation period to commence at 1500 hours
  • Hard stop of gate operations at 1800 hours
  • NIT – final reefer pick-up at 1600 hours
  • VIG – final reefer pick-up at 1530 hours
• PPCY, PCY, Annex and RSA – last trucks in / handled at 1730 hours
